For Bolt Group Joiners and folks in the Discord server:
First, I want to sincerely apologize for the delay in delivering Bolt Groupbuy orders. The original estimated time of shipping was late May to early June. As I mentioned in the server, the manufacturer has encountered serious issues with production capacity over the last half year. They have expanded their facility and delivered the Bolts to me last week. However, upon receiving the products, I discovered a serious issue – only a few PVD weights can fit in the bottoms. I have sent back some products to the manufacturer to discuss the cause and solutions.
We identified that the assembly issue was caused by a miscalculation in the tolerance during the manufacturing process. Due to the low yield rate and long processing time of PVD brass weights, I decided to change them to PVD stainless steel weights. The manufacturer has promised to make every effort to complete the production of the new PVD stainless steel weights, and they should be able to deliver them in 2-3 weeks.
For now, some anodized cases can fit the PVD brass weights, but there are some problems with the anodizing colors (again, a mistake during processing).
So, for Bolt Groupbuy orders:
If you chose anodized blue or anodized purple, you can request a full refund if you don’t like the final color. If you are okay with the colors, I will confirm with you later and ship them out.
If you chose E colors, you can either ask for a full refund or, if you can wait for the PVD stainless steel weights. The PVD stainless steel weight should have no visible difference from the PVD brass weight. To compensate for the material change and extra waiting time, a discount of 40 USD will be offered. It will be refunded via PayPal when the final product is shipped out. Before then, if you change your mind, you can still request a full refund.
The Bolt extras will maintain the group buy price of 260 USD for solder and 270 USD for hotswap after the PVD weight change. I also apologize to those folks who are waiting for the weights to be restocked. I am sorry for keeping you waiting for another 2-3 weeks.
I feel deeply sorry for the terrible experience in the recent two group buys (Apricot Round 2 and Bolt Small Groupbuy). I will make some changes to the group buy process next time and hope to enhance everyone’s experience when purchasing keyboard kits from me.
